Great local restaurant with high quality food. Had the wild boar pasta and tiramisu, both excellent and tasteful. Nicely located in a quiet square behind the church tower. Friendly and helpful family running the place. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent dinner her while walking the Francigena. Great Primi pastas ( mine with rabbit / her’s with truffle ) on fresh past; main was steak with potatoes and greens. Good wine selection. Family owned with attentive service.

This is a wonderful osteria in the village of Altopascio, on the Via Francigena. Between us, we have eaten lunch here twice. The tasty vegetable soups were chocked full of good things such as borlotti beans, cavolo nero, carrots, celery, onions and potato. The pastas were also tasty. We tried two different pastas, one alla carbonara and the other al funghi. One of us completed lunch with a lovely, light tiramisu. Overall, for me, this was the best lunch so far in Italy. Warm and efficient service too Also, the owners have a cute little sausage dog who wanders around the restaurant nonchalantly, while keeping a careful eye on diners!

This is a hidden gem in the little town of Altopascio. Located at a square with tables outside. Make sure you reserve a table because it is always busy with locals, so this is a good sign. Great food and a nice wine selection. Friendly staff and some of them speak English …

Absolutely the best food and service I’ve experienced in the many places I’ve eaten at in Italy over the past month. The soup is to die for, as is the pasta. The service, especially given my very limited Italian, is so patient and could not be faulted. WOW. So good, I’ve already had to catch a train back to Altopascio for another lunch at La Dipensa. And will probably do so again if I can before before leaving Tuscany.
